It's fun running into other people traveling especially on the Lake Superior Circle tour. There are a ton of people out on motorcycles doing this route. Far and away the vast majority are on Harleys followed by Honda Goldwings aka the "couch on wheels" I have seen a fair number of BMW's although not anywhere close to these other two far more common brands.

Typical Harley set up - much much larger bike than mine.

A "road style" BMW touring bike - much smaller than the big Harley's but still larger than my bike

My little Bonnie - considered by many to be too small for long distance touring...

A couple of Canadians, one of whom has the exact same bike as mine. They were returning to Toronto after riding out to Colorado to attend the wedding of the one fellow's sister. They were both on Triumphs but only one was like mine.

Three Triumphs out on the road for a long haul - a rare sight

And for all those who think my bike is too underpowered for the long haul I present this rig.

And this is the intrepid French Canadian who was riding it. He had stopped at the cafe at my motel for breakfast. My French is limited to only a few words (ig'nant American that I am) but he spoke enough English to let me know that he had already ridden 3,100 kilometers and his journey was "the trip of a lifetime". I'm not sure but I think he was riding the entire Trans Canada Highway. There were actually quite a few long distance touring cyclists on the route fully loaded and I even saw one tandem along the route.

And then he was off...
I caught up with him later that mornnig about 26 miles down the road stopped for a snack of fresh cherries.
