Vast Wilderness

It really is remarkable how much vast undeveloped wilderness there is up here - so rugged and so beautiful. This is looking back from a wayside table pull off at the road I just came up. At times you are in the forrest and other times you will be literally just yards from the edge of the Lake as you wind your way around the bays and inlets along the shoreline. There is quite a bit of up and down going from zero up to about 1,200 feet and then back down again. The geology is very rocky and the rock looks very consolidated.

A typical rock cut - there were a few tunnels too.
